The White Horse is the Rugby Pub in Swanage.  It has the biggest screen, biggest crowd and best banter. It shows loads of football and cricket too, but international rugby takes priority if there is a clash.

I pitched up early for last weekends matches - you need to to get a table and I like to read the papers and have a spot of lunch before friends pre-arranged and random turn up to join me.

Food here is straight-forward, honest pub food; full of fat, salt and flavour and just what you need to set you up for an afternoon's rugby.  My personal favourite is the Lasagne, but today Broccoli cheese bake sounded appealing.  Half a pint of rich cheese sauce hiding new potatoes and probably not quite enough broccoli to keep Trading Standards happy, served with Garlic Bread.  I had some chips as well - which I wouldn't have done if I'd known about the potato - but ate the lot and felt well satisfied if just a little guilty.

The food cost me £8.45, the afternoon's beer came in within budget and England beat the French so Rob and I headed to The Snackbar (the only Cocktail Bar in Swanage) to meet the girls and celebrate.
